Course Description

The Care Certificate is a nationally recognised foundation programme for individuals working in adult social care. It is designed to build the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care. The programme introduces learners to the core standards expected within the care sector, forming a strong base for professional practice.

Learners cover key areas such as safeguarding, duty of care, effective communication, dignity and respect, equality and inclusion, health and safety, and infection prevention and control. All training is directly linked to the workplace, allowing learners to apply their knowledge in real-life care settings and ensuring the learning remains practical, relevant and meaningful.

The course is delivered through a blended learning approach that combines one-to-one support, structured learning activities and opportunities for peer engagement. This flexible model offers consistent guidance while fitting around work commitments. The programme supports both new starters and existing staff, helping to improve confidence, competence and professionalism while promoting high-quality care delivery and workforce stability.
