Course Eligibility

  • Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £20,319)
  • Must be in receipt of a benefit (UC/JSA/ESA)
  • A UK resident for 3 years or more
  • Aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2023
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 
  • Must have access to internet and either a laptop or PC
  • The programme is NOT available in the following regions: Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, West and South Yorkshire, North of Tyne, Tees Valley, Cambridge and Peterborough, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, The Black Country & Coventry. 

Course Description

This is a remote course. You must have access to a laptop or computer.

You can complete this course in your own time as long as you complete within 6 – 8 weeks.

This qualification aims to assist learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for those with dementia.

 It covers areas such as:

  • Person-centred care
  • The influence of positive communication methods
  • Issues relating to the use of medication for those with dementia
  • The importance of providing appropriate activities.

 Course Delivery

  • This course has a rolling start, this means once your enrolment process has been completed, you will be started.

  • You can complete the course in your own time.

  • You have 6 – 8 weeks to complete the course.
