Course Eligibility

  • Valid British Passport or Birth Certificate (If non-British Passport or Birth Certificate, you must provide a Residence Permit or Proof of Immigration status, i.e. Visa Document/Share Code.)
  • Proof of address Utility Bill/Bank Statement dated within the last three months.
  • Must be a London resident
  • Must be in receipt of a benefit (i.e. UC, ESA, JSA)
  • Be eligible to Live / Work in UK
  • Be in the UK for 3+ years (or be in an eligible residency group)
  • Can not be in any other form of training or education
  • Must be unemployed or earning less than £20,319 PA
  • Candidates need to be 19 or older as of 31st August 2023

Course Description

This is a classroom based course which begins with ESOL Entry Level one.

Individuals who have limited or no prior knowledge of the English language and wish to develop their English language skills. It is especially suitable for the following groups of people: Newcomers to England, adult learners, Job seekers, individuals seeking basic communication skills and seniors or older adults.

The aim of the Entry 1 ESOL qualification is to help learners build the foundational language skills needed for daily life and to provide them with the confidence to communicate in basic social situations. As learners advance to higher levels, they can work toward achieving greater fluency and proficiency in the English language. Upon passing Entry 1, and learners are confident, they can progress onto multi level. For example;

  • Entry 1 ESOL
  • Entry 2 ESOL
  • Entry 3 ESOL
