Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £17,000) Be receiving a benefit or not A UK resident for 3 years or more Aged 19 or older on 31 August within the 2021 to 2022 funding year Must live in the Greater Manchester area.

Course Description

1 Week Customer Service with Food Safety for residents of Greater Manchester.

This is a remote course. You will learn from home with guidance from a tutor via Teams meeting.

 

Customer Service Units Covered:

This is a spiral curriculum, commencing with development of knowledge and moving onto application of learning. Learners will explore what is meant by customer service, aspects of product and service knowledge, understanding customer needs, wants and responses when these are not met and the vital skills to be successful in customer service. They will then move onto look at how this knowledge is applied via scenarios, role plays and discussions. Learners will also explore the key skill of self assessment, applying the improvement techniques to self and service.

The programme aims to support and develop long term learning by delivering learning within the 10 sessions, however learners will complete the assessment activities after completing all learning sessions, enabling them to build on knowledge throughout that is reflected in the final assessment activities including role play scenario.

The programme aims to move attendees closer to the job market and to support a change in career.

 

Once you have completed the Customer Service side of the course, we will issue a voucher code via email which allows you to log in anytime to complete the Food Safety section of the course at your own pace. 

 

Food Safety Units:

The various food safety hazards and their causes, specifically food poisoning and food related illnesses
How personal hygiene, work area and storage cleanliness affect food safety
Legal obligations of food safety for industry professionals
Measures and tips to maintain HACCP and Food Standards Agency criteria
