This is a 4 weeks course for residents who live in Nottinghamshire and can travel to Worksop.
You can choose from Plastering or Bricklaying!
On the Plastering course you will:
Explore – Plastering and dry lining operations/techniques.
Building methods and construction technologies
Health, Safety & Welfare
Communication and problem solving in the workplace & skills for employment
Carry Out – Practical operations in plastering and plastering surfaces
Understand – Carbon awareness and energy management.
On the Bricklaying course you will:
Level 2 award in construction and building crafts
Exploring health, safety and welfare in construction
Communication in the workplace
Carry out practical operations in bricklaying
Awareness of hybrid wall instillation
Introduction to hybrid wall instillation, drivers, benefits, risks and
health and safety
Customer care and internal insulation systems
External wall insulation
Interface, post instillation checks and handover
Level 2 award in understanding carbon awareness and energy
management
Understanding the drivers for organisations to reduce carbon
emissions
Understanding the relationship between the work environment
and energy consumption
Understanding how changes in behavior can reduce energy
consumption in the work environment
Understanding the potential obstacles to reducing energy
consumption in the work, environment and home.
Qualifications Gained:
Award in construction and building crafts
Award in personal development for employment
Understanding carbon awareness
